Christmas Eve

Christmas eve starts early for our family.  We gather around noon, eat and open presents and then eat candy and more candy.  We have the traditional everyone pose in front of the Christmas tree by family groups and with Grandma and Grandpa.

We usually go my brothers' church for their Children's Program on Christmas Eve but as you can see from the picture above they are now too "old" to be in the Christmas program.  So we attended our church's Christmas Eve Candle and Communion service.  It was so beautiful and very special.  Noah and Lily have participated in passover that we celebrate as a family but have not participated in communion at church before this Christmas Eve. It was so amazing to see them get it and really connect Jesus' birth with his death and resurrection. It was just so cool to watch Darrel led them in this so significant remembrance.  It will be something I will never forget.
