Sticker success

A BIG thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday and bought stickers.

WOW!

I am amazed that nothing over a QUARTER could bring in over $250.00 in just one day!

There are more so if you were out of town or busy with family that day, message me your email and we can set up a time for you to come look.

I laughed because the theme of the day seemed to be. "I'm buying these so my kids won't have to play with mine." What a great idea. Moms were setting there kids up with scrapbook supplies, cheap, so that they have something to do while they scrapbook.

There were also teachers (and home school moms) buying stickers to decorate projects or for rewards.

It was a great day!

God is so good.

Thanks again!

What's on my heart today.

thing 1:

Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. A class that radically changed our lives. Darrel and I are coordinating the class this spring and God is doing some pretty cool things. If you are local, consider taking it with us, if not look into it in your area. Today is the last day for early registration and God has moved in the hearts of many to join us. I can't wait to see how He works through this new class.

Thing 2: The sex trade industry and modern slavery. (i know, where are the pictures of the cute kids, gail?)

Working on showing this movie for missions fest.

Jesus did not call rock stars to be his hands and feet. My thoughts are swirling with what is the church to doing about this. What am I doing about it?

and God gave me this.

Isaiah 58:6-9
6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousnessa]">[a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

i am not preaching at you. this is for me. this is for me.

December 11 - what a difference a year makes

This is the precious face, I saw one year ago. I got lost in those beautiful eyes and fell in love. The day we saw this beautiful face we heard of the pain of another family across the world. A story of loss. A story of sacrifice and love. God had a plan and He placed this amazing boy into our lives. He is such a gift.

This year has not been an easy year for this beautiful boy. His loss has been great and he has mourned. I have had the honor of comforting him, and praying for his healing. The joy has returned that was not there. He runs and giggles. He has found joy in the people who love him dearly and he has learned to trust again. It has been amazing, not easy but amazing.

Busy few days... Andrew Peterson, Gingerbread houses and Welcome Home Elias!

The Behold the Lamb Concert was amazing. I've heard it said that your soul needs to be bathed in music. I don't I have ever experienced that as fully as I did Thursday night. This concert is not a performance but an invitation to worship "the creator of the moon, the author of the faith that can make the mountains move." It was beautiful.
Friday the big kids decorated "gingerbread" house with our homeschool small group. We have done this with friends for that last several years and it has become something they so look forward to. Thanks Tami for putting all these houses together so they would set to decorate.
Tonight, we welcomed home another Ethiopian sweetie and boy is he adorable. It is so much fun to see these boys all come home. This is the first picture of them together but it won't be the last. These families are such a gift to us. I am so thankful that Jude will have these boys to grow up with.

Tonight Christmas can begin- BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD

This cd has changed the way I celebrate Christmas. Andrew Peterson has graciously allowed for you to hear it, here.

http://andrew-peterson.com/players/btlog/

My only request for Christmas this year was to make the 2 1/2 hour drive to see the concert tour.

Darrel is taking off at noon.

Grandma will be here at 2.

We will be off to dinner and the event that sets my attitude for worship during this crazy season.

My Christmas comes early, and I am so grateful!

First attempt at roasting beans

We had a friend over for supper. He has been on his own while his wife is Ethiopia waiting to bring their little boy home. Darrel cooked tonight which he does sometimes. The thing about Darrel and cooking is that he doesn't do it very often but when he does it is usually fabulous. The food was good but then he entertained Chad and I by allowing us to experience his first shot at roasting his own green Ethiopian coffee beans and brewing it in the Ethiopian coffee pot we brought home with us.

It was quite an experience. Really had no idea what he was doing except for what he read on goggle and what we witnessed in Ethiopia.

Burnt coffee smell, turning into beautifully shiny beans.

Sluge turning into wonderfully strong, smooth, rich coffee.

It was a great time seeing if he could actually make Ethiopian coffee, the right way.

Thanks Chad for being a good sport and enjoying the experience with us. Can't wait to see you on Saturday!
